Vote Stockton for state representative
By Bill Schaffer

Reapportionment after the 2000 census has placed Prineville in the geographically large and unwieldy rural Legislative District 55 that consumes a massive portion of the state from Prineville to Shady Cove to Lakeview. This makes representing the constituents in the district a logistical nightmare.
Our choices for representation include Karole Stockton of Prineville and George Gilman of Medford. While neither candidate has overwhelming credentials or the political clout to make a major impact in the upcoming legislature, we believed Karole Stockton would best serve Crook County residents.
Stockton has been involved in this community for a long time serving on a wide variety of boards, commissions and councils. Her political experience includes a term on the Prineville City Council and she worked for one session as an aide to Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives Lynn Lundquist in Salem.
During her extensive career in community service she has proven to be a tireless worker for the people and community, often at great personal sacrifice.
While we may not always agree with Stockton's Democratic Party political positions we believe she will make the choices that will best serve the interests of this community and her other constituents. She has earned the right to be our representative in Salem.
