Crook County gains new counseling services with Carol Humphreys, M.A. who is offering individual, couples and family counseling by appointment in the Prineville and Mitchell areas.
Humphreys, who moved to Mitchell in November, holds a Master's degree in social work and is working toward a Th.D. in Christian psychology.
She indicated that she is excited to offer private counseling services and looks forward to helping individuals and families representing one of a very few independent counselors in the area.
"Mental health clinics cater to the more organic type syndromes, where my services are geared toward addressing individual and family issues," she explained. "My particular type of counseling is basically mainstream counseling, but with a Biblical perspective, if the client is comfortable with that."
Humphreys added that she will also offer "brief" counseling services for people on-line as well, for those in remote areas who might have trouble getting to her office. Humphreys will be working out of offices located at the 7th Day Adventist Church in Prineville and a private office in Mitchell.
