PDI touring alleys, remedying access problems

Prineville Disposal Inc. (PDI) worker Eric Foster, shown atop the truck, trims back overhanging limbs while Karlie Overpeck feeds them into the chipper.

As a community service project as well as a way of helping out all service vehicles traveling Prineville alleyways, Prineville Disposal, Inc. (PDI) has been busy trimming overhanging trees and chipping branches the last couple of weeks.
PDI explains that they use most of the city alleys to service residential customers. Over the years the trees encroaching into the public right of way causes access problems.
According to PDI's Gary Goodman, the responsibility of keeping overgrowth obstructions cleaned up belongs to the homeowner, however, many are unable to so for a variety of reasons. Goodman also points out that personnel are not pruning trees, rather the goal is to simply cut back overgrowth.
"We have the personnel and equipment to do the job and we are happy to help," said PDI employee Eric Forster. "Plus, it helps save the paint job and clearance light on our route trucks."
PDI vehicles will be making rounds in Prineville alleyways through next week.
