Drug bust brings in 9.5 pounds of marijuana
Marijuana street value of more than $33,000

Police seized 9.5 pounds of marijuana, with a street value of more than $33,000, in a Prineville arrest Thursday afternoon.
Officers arrested Jerry Neal Bolin, 45, of 2258 NE Third St., Thursday on charges of possession, delivery and manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession, delivery and manufacturing marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school and of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Detective Sgt. Scott Shelton. The Crook County School District works closely with the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council, which is located across the street, to offer alternative and work crew classes for Crook County students.
Bolin was lodged in the Crook County Jail and his bail was set at $57,000 on the controlled substance and criminal mischief charges.
"Over the course of the last several months, detectives from the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement (CODE) team received credible information that Bolin was involved in the sales and manufacturing of marijuana," Shelton wrote in a press release.
A surveillance program was started that monitored the activities of Bolin in and around Prineville.
"During this surveillance, detectives witnessed Bolin making sales of marijuana to individuals," Shelton said.
Using surveillance information, CODE detectives applied for and received a search warrant for Bolin's vehicles and his home.
On Thursday at about 1:54 p.m., CODE detectives, with help from the Prineville Police Department and the Crook County Sheriff's Office executed the search warrant at 2258 NE Third St.
"During the search of the residence and associated vehicles, detectives located approximately 9.5 pounds of high-grade packaged marijuana," Shelton added.
Also, detectives found more than $4,000 in cash, drug sales records, gram quantity weight scales and packaging bags used to repackage marijuana for sales.
"The marijuana seized from Bolin has a value of [more than] $3,500 per pound, with an estimated street value of [more than] $33,000," Shelton said.
Bolin was arraigned on Nov. 17 and his next court date is today, Nov. 21, in an appearance by video, according to Lt. Al Bond of the Crook County Jail.
CODE is a multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force made up of detectives from all central Oregon law enforcement agencies, including the Crook County Sheriff's Office, Prineville Police Department, Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, Bend and Redmond police departments, Oregon State Police, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Deschutes County District Attorney and the Oregon National Guard.
