Willie Walker


   Willie "Joe" Walker passed away Nov. 6, 2006 in Redmond, Ore. He was 40 years old. There will be no services.
   Joe was born March 18, 1966, to Willie and Elizabeth JoAnn (Couch) Gilbert in Hanford, Calif. He attended Crook County schools for most of his life.
   Joe later moved to Portland and went to work for a cable company until his retirement, due to his disability, in 1991. He moved back to Terrebonne in 1998 to be closer to his family.
   Joe's hobbies were fishing, camping, racing his wheelchair in the snow, collecting Dallas Cowboy collectables, and spending time with his families and friends.
   Joe is survived by: parents Calvin and JoAnn Walker of Terrebonne, Ore.; stepson Terry Thomas of Portland, Ore.; stepdaughters Tina Thomas of Portland, Ore., Beth Thomas of Portland, Ore; stepson Jake Thomas of Portland, Ore; brother Ed Walker of Eloy, Arizona; sister Rebecca Bitner of Bend, Ore., sisters Lori Mergel of Prineville, Ore., and Heidi Walker of Redmond, Ore.; maternal grandparents William and Louise Mount of Redmond, Ore.; numerous grandchildren; and many friends.
   Joe is preceded in death with his wife Yvonne, his paternal grandparents and one brother. Memorial contributions may be made to JoAnn Walker in the memory of Joe, P.O. Box 14 Terrebonne, Oregon 97760.
   Whispering Pines Funeral Home is in charge of these arrangements.
