Dean Music

Dean Manley Music died on April 24, 2008.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1933, in Rocky Point, Wyo., to Vernon M. and Alice M. Music.
The family moved to Oregon when he was 3. After completing his education at Shelburn School in Shelburn, he spent several years working on a ranch in Wyoming.
Upon returning to Oregon, he was drafted into the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Dean spent many years in the tire industry, working and being affiliated with the Les Schwab Tire Corporation.
In 1964, he went to work for Les Schwab's Corporation in Redmond as a tire store employee and then he worked his way up to manager of that store.
In about 1970-1971, he was promoted to general manager of the corporation and he and his family moved to Prineville in the early 1970s.
The family lived in Prineville from 1971 to 1973.
He retired from the tire business in Estacada.
While living in Estacada, he was involved in the community and was president of the chamber of commerce.
He then moved to Baker City and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Mr. Music met Doris Shook and resided in Baker City, and then moved to Redmond and then to Lyons.
Together they enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and loved each other's company.
Dean loved small children and they loved him. One thing people always said about Dean was that he was such a nice person and liked by all.
Dean is survived by: his wife, Doris; her children Juanita, Loren and Shelly; first wife Patricia (Bates) Music and their children, Pamela and Connie; two stepdaughters Linda and Eileen; two brothers, Floyd and Harold; one sister Vera; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill his son Gene and his second wife Ramona.
