Lyman Falk

Lyman Lyle Falk went to be with his Lord on Feb. 22, 2010. Services will be held at Powell Butte Christian Church on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at 1:30 p.m.

Lyman Lyle Falk was born Feb. 15, 1920, in Halsey, Ore., to parents Charles Ludwig and Elizabeth A. (Forrester) Falk. This photo was taken on his 90th birthday.

He married Margaret J. Doxsee on Jan. 3, 1942, making a marriage of 68 years. They farmed together at Junction City, Ore., until purchasing a ranch and moving to the Alfalfa community in 1951. They lived at the ranch until retirement age, moving to Redmond, in 1977, where he resided until his death. He also worked for various farmers in Powell Butte.

He started college with plans to do engineering, but stopped because of WWII. He liked all sports, but especially enjoyed playing baseball on the college team. His grandchildren remember him ice skating with them after retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, but especially fishing after he moved off the ranch. He could repair almost anything and took pride in doing it. He was very patriotic and kept informed on government affairs. His love for the Lord grew in his final years.

His children include Charlotte Bass (Sam), Dail Hacker (Larry), Brett Falk (Debbie), Loette Wallace (Tom). His grandchildren are Micheal and Helen Bass, Phillip Hacker, Neva Allen, Michelle Wallace, Naomi Deevers, Jerry and Dusty Wallace, Chelsea and Dakota Falk. He also had nine great grand-children.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Les and Omar, and one sister, Lila Turrell.

He is survived by three sisters, Doris Isom (Wade), Treva Yada (Brian), and Vonda Fox (John).
