Louise M. Hartwig, 78, of Redmond, passed away Feb. 21, 2010.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 at The Lower Mitchell Cemetery in Mitchell. Pastor Carl Naas officiated.
Louise was born on Dec. 9, 1931 in St. Helens, Ore., to Marion and Violet Mildred (Keller) Banks. She attended school in Boise, Idaho.
After school, Louise married Alvin Hartwig in Lewiston, Idaho and started a family. She was a homemaker and a mother all her life.
Her hobbies included camping, cooking, traveling, shopping. She had a great passion for caring for stray cats and loved spending time with her family.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Deanna Mathis of Redmond, and Denise Mathis of Roseburg, Ore.; son, Richard Hartwig of Redmond; brothers, Lyle, Myron and Wayne Banks of Boise, Idaho, and Bernie Banks of Springfield, Ore.; sister, Marlene Knapp of Klamath Falls, Ore.; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, and two brothers.
