Barbara June Adye, 80, of Prineville, passed away Aug. 7, 2010.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at the Powell Butte Cemetery, in Powell Butte.
Barbara was born in Anderson, Ind., on May 5, 1930, to Ed and Florence (Jones) Willis. She graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School, in Evansville, Ind., in 1948. She received her cosmetology license from Pasadena City College, in 1969. She worked for the University of California at Davis for five years. She then worked two years for Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, in Livermore, Calif. Barbara then retired for health reasons. She was a homemaker for most of her life.
Barbara moved to Prineville in 2000.
Barbara loved fresh air and the outdoors, traveling, writing, and reading. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, and devoted her life to Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Aner Paul Adye of Prineville; daughter, Cathy (Keith) White of Prineville; daughter, Rebecca (Dan) Leavitt of Powell Butte; son, Mike (Lorraine) Adye of Bend; sister, Shirley Landsberg of San Clemente, Calif; brother, Steve Willis of Corvallis, Ore; eight grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
