Lea Ola Dailey, a LaPine resident previously of Prineville, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2008 at her home. She was 77 years old.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 from noon to 2 p.m. at Prineville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Prineville Funeral Home. Bishop Curt Workman of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; Prineville 1st Ward will conduct.
Lea Ola was born in Safford, Arizona, on Dec. 8, 1930 to Frank and Vivian (Crum) Jennings. She moved to Oregon with her family at the age of five.
She went to Tumalo Grade School and attended Redmond High School for two years. She moved to Oakridge, Ore., where she worked in the Sportsman Caf‚ on and off for 23 years.
In 1969 she obtained her GED, and went to Pacific Community College and received her LPN nursing license in 1970. On Sept. 18, 1970 she married Harry Dailey in Vancouver, Wash. Between the two of them, they had 11 children (yours, mine & ours). They lived in Forest Grove for a time and then bought a farm in Banks, Ore., raising livestock. They lived there until they retired in July of 1989 and moved into their fifth wheel and traveled for the next 13 years, just coming home to visit the family. The couple visited every state except Maine, Alaska, and Hawaii. They bought a small piece of land in Prineville, Ore., where they lived until Harry passed away in 2002. Then she moved to LaPine, Ore., with her sister Judy, and has lived there since.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Lea Ola had many hobbies. Her main hobby was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was her favorite part of life. She painted great oil paintings, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and embroidering. She loved the outdoors; hunting, camping and fishing, were some of her favorite pastimes. She loved reunions and large gatherings so she could visit with family and friends. A trip to the casino for a day of gambling was enjoyable to her too. She played "Slingo," a lottery scratch off ticket and won $7,777.77. on one ticket. She was very lucky at games of chance.
Lea Ola is survived by her 11 children - sons Frank and his wife Trish Harer of Bremerton, Wash., Harry "Skip" Jr. and his wife Judy Dailey of Quincy, Calif., Mike Dailey of Scappoose, Ore., Paul and his wife Cindy Daily of Sonora, Calif., Bill and his wife Debbie Inman of Prineville, Guy and his wife Audra Dailey of Forest Grove; daughters Sher and her husband Randy Thompson of Eugene, Ore., Helen Hisaw of Prineville, Laurie and her husband Jim Horlacher of Banks, Ore., Linda Kjelvik of LaPine, and Rebecca Vervalen of Bend, Ore.; three sisters Helen Alvarado of Bend, Judy Lilly of La Pine, and Mickey Heagle of Forest Grove, Ore.; 34 grandchildren and 19 great -grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, one sister, one granddaughter, and one great - granddaughter.
