Shelley Ann (Patee) Adovnik passed away on Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, in Bend, Ore., at the age of 52. She was born in Glendale, Calif. on Nov. 8, 1957 to Harvey and Trudy (Straus) Patee. She graduated from Sandy Union High School in Sandy, Ore., in 1975.
Shelley worked for Burns Brother’s Truck Stop as a cook for 20 years. She then moved to Mitchell, Ore., where she married Kelly Adovnik on Nov. 1, 1996. She worked as a cook at the Apple Peddler in Prineville for six years when she retired due to illness.
Shelley held the Javelin record at the Sandy Union High School for a couple of years. She coached Javelin at Mitchell High School for two years. She also enjoyed pitching for a softball team.
Shelley’s hobbies included fishing, cooking, and working. She loved spending time with her husband Kelly, and her animals.
Shelley was preceeded in death by her father, Harvey Patee. She is survived by her husband, Kelly Adovnik of Mitchell, Ore., a son, Dustin Patee of Salem, Ore., her mother, Trudy Patee of Palm Springs, Calif., a brother, Dale Patee of Palms Springs, Calif., an aunt and numerous cousins.
There will be no services at this time per the family’s request. Memorial contributions may be made in Shelley’s name to the American Cancer Society, 2350 Oakmont Way, Suite #200, Eugene, OR 97401.
