Cowboys finish sixth
York, George and Henry have solid rounds as Crook County holds their place on day two
By Lon Austin

The Crook County High School boys golf team finished sixth at the Intermountain Conference Golf Championship at Big River Golf Course in Umatilla on Tuesday.
Bend won the tournament, shooting a two-day total of (283-286) 568, while the Cowboys shot (322-327) 649.
The two rounds were the best shot by the Cowboys this season.
Matt York led the way for Crook County shooting an 80 on Monday then coming back with a 75 on Tuesday for a 155 total just five strokes from a state qualifying score.
Caleb Henry and Jared George also had good second days as they each fired 83's on the day for the Cowboys.
"I am kind of excited about our opportunities," said Head Coach Chuck Wilcox. "It was a good way to end the season, and our outlook for next year is very positive. We are starting to build the program back up, which I am excited about. Some of these guys are starting to realize that they can shoot in the low 80's and maybe that will give them a push to excel next season. We want to thank all the supporters of our program-everyone that played in the 12th annual benefit and everyone that supported our program. It was a big success and we want to say a big thank you from the boys and girls golf teams."
