Home a total loss in Powell Butte area fire
October 04, 2012 In the early morning hours on Wednesday, Oct. 3, the Crook County Fire and Rescue and the Crook County Sheriff's office was dispatched to a fire that was reported at 1:06 a.m. at 7700 S.W. Stillman Road in Powell Butte. An engine and a tender from the Powell Butte Fire station responded, as well as an engine, a tender, and an ambulance from the Prineville station. Upon arrival, a manufactured home was found to be fully engulfed in fire. The two occupants escaped with their lives, and alerted the neighbors-whom called 911. The occupants of the home were transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Redmond. The home was a total loss, and the fire is currently under investigation |
