Eagle/Loggers blasted 52-0 by Locomotive/HornetsHuntington/Harper rolls 36-0 in first halfOctober 04, 2012 For the second consecutive week, the Mitchell/Spray football team has struggled to score points. The Eagle/Loggers fell behind Huntington/Harper 36-0 in the first half and were unable to recover as they fell 52-0 to the Locomotive/Hornets. “Again we failed to respond after falling behind,” said Mitchell/Spray co-head coach Tim Foster. “It was a tough game. We had some moments when we did things OK, but overall we were just outworked and outmuscled. They are a much improved team over last year.” Mitchell/Spray quarterback Dylon Tankersly took a hard hit in the third quarter and was unable to play the remainder of the contest. Receiver Tino Espinoza replaced Tankersly, and according to Foster was the one bright spot for the Eagle/Loggers. “He showed some fire back there and created something out of nothing a few times to keep drives alive,” Foster said. With the loss, the Eagle/Loggers fell to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the High Desert League. The win was the first for the Locomotive/Hornets who are 1-3 overall and 1-1 in league play. Things don’t get any easier for Mitchell/Spray this week when they take on the?Adrian Antelopes (2-2) today in a 1 p.m. contest in Spray. Adrian has a formidable offensive team and has averaged 47 points a game so far this season. “They are going to be another tough opponent,” Foster said. “They’ll be fast and they execute well, so we will have to rise to the challenge or face another long afternoon.” |
