TWO CAN(s) make a difference
Teresa Tooley business@centraloregonian.com November 26, 2012 The Central Oregonian is taking donations for the Holiday Partnerships Christmas baskets for needy families in Crook County with their “TWO CAN Make a Difference.” Bring in two items (canned or powdered milk, canned vegetables, canned fruits, gravy mix packets, boxed stuffing/dressing mix, canned cranberry sauce, or boxed cake and other dessert mixes) and receive $5 off a 1-year subscription or a classified ad. Deadline to drop off food is Friday, Dec 12, 2012. Some restrictions apply. The Central Oregonian is located at 558 N Main St and can be reached at 541-447-6205. • “What’s Brewing?” will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 7 to 8 a.m., at Meadow Lakes Restaurant. This week’s speaker will be Karen Yeargain, of the Crook County Emergency Preparedness Team, who will be discussing, “Are we ready for a natural disaster?” Breakfast is available for purchase. • Pioneer Memorial Hospice, Robberson Ford and the St. Charles Foundation are teaming up to present the 21st annual Hospice Christmas Auction, which will be held Dec. 1. The event will be held at 6 p.m., at Carey Foster Hall, in Prineville. Bid on trees, quilts or other great auction items, and be there when the raffle winner of a 2012 Ford F-150 Crew Cab is announced. The event is a fundraiser to support Central Oregon hospice patients. Yoga classes are offered on Monday and Wednesday at 9:15 a.m., taught by Olivia Mitchell. Evening yoga classes are at 6 p.m., Monday and Wednesday, and 5:15 p.m., on Tuesday and Thursday, taught by Renee Tooley. New to the lineup is Jacked Up Fit taught by certified cross fit instructor, Ashley Thrasher, on Monday and Wednesday, at 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays, at 8 a.m. Bobby Blanchard is teaching Basis Jiu Jitsu classes on Tuesday and Thursdays, at 6 p.m. Norm's Tuff Nuff classes continue weekdays at 5:30 a.m. All classes are open to members and non-members. They will be located at the Crook County Fairgrounds this year and is free to all ages. She joins the Breese Gals at 150 N.W. Fourth St. in Prineville. Lori grew up on a small ranch, near O’Neil junction. She graduated from Lone Pine Elementary, Crook County High School, and Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in design. She was very involved in 4-H, with home economics, sheep, and horse projects.
