Erica HarrisDecember 10, 2012 Erica Lynn Harris, of Portland, Ore., passed away in her home on Dec. 3, 2012. She was 37 years old. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Prineville. Her ashes will remain with her husband. Erica was born May 4, 1975, in San Diego, Calif. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1993, and then took community college courses in childhood development. From 2001 to 2003, she worked as a substitute teacher in special education classes in Poulsbo, Wash. Erica lived in Prineville from August 2003 to January 2010. From 2007 to 2008, she served as the Children’s Ministry Director for First Baptist Church. She then moved to Portland where she lived the remainder of her life. Erica enjoyed spending time with her children, and loved all kids like her own. She was a Good News Club teacher for many years, and loved to help children understand how much God loves them and what He did for them. Erica loved to read, which can be accredited to her father, and enjoyed outdoors activities like hiking, camping, and swimming. She also loved to be a homemaker and spent time with her girls, teaching them to knit, sew, bake, and cook. Erica loved the ladies at her cancer support group as well. Erica had a passion for life and a strong faith in Christ. She set an example of how to live, was gracious, and maintained a positive attitude even in the most difficult of times. Her love for the people she met would typically lead to their lives being changed forever. Erica is survived by her husband, Jerry Harris; father, Richard Anderson; daughters, Caitlin Beh, Shannon Beh, Allison Beh, and Kelly Beh; stepson, Zachary Harris; stepdaughter, Emilee Harris; and grandmother, Phyllis Anderson. |
