Prineville man cited in hit and run collision

A Prineville man was arrested for his role in a hit and run accident on Highway 126 near the edge of town.

Nicholas Letteriello, age 21, rear-ended a private security vehicle driven by an unidentified 28-year-old male. The victim was transported to Pioneer Memorial Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the accident, Letteriello fled the scene. He was later located walking in the area of Cliffside Lane, not far from the location of the accident. He was taken into custody and transported to Pioneer Memorial Hospital due to injuries he said he sustained in the collision. He was cited at the hospital then released.

Letteriello was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver (Hit and Run), Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
