Roger Coy

Roger L. Coy, 69, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother went to the great Salmon River in the sky Dec. 15, 2012.

A visitation will be held Friday, Dec.r 21, 2012 from 2-6 p.m. at Whispering Pines Funeral Home.

Roger was born on Feb. 14, 1943 to Charles and Lorraine Coy. He attended school in Stanfield, Ore. where he graduated in 1959. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served for three years in Fort Lewis, Wash. He returned to Oregon in 1969 and resided in Prineville until his death.

Roger worked in various saw mills, including Hudspeth Pine, Coin Lumber, and Ochoco Lumber. He met and married Sandra Webb in 1983.

Roger Loved the outdoors, but most of all he loved his salmon fishing. Many weekends you could find him on the Deschutes with his fishing buddies and his two best friends, waiting to “hook the big one.” He will be missed on the river. Everyone that knew him, loved and respected him.

Roger is survived by his wife Sandra, “Sam” Coy of Prineville; four daughters, Nan and Jason Pitzer, of Keno, Ore.; Michele McCarson from Fallon, Nev.; Pam and Scott Carpenter of Culver; Sherry and Gary Hamlin of Prineville; step-sons Tony and Walker Thiel; sister, Carol Dill; his beloved dogs Maggie and Jack; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother; father; nephew; great-granddaughter; beloved dog Pierre and his best friend Kenny.
