George F. BrowningJanuary 11, 2013 George F. Browning, principal of Prineville Junior High School from 1959 to 1962 died on January 2, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene of pneumonia and lung cancer. Browning graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Oregon in 1950 and in later received his M.A. in General Studies there. His other positions in the Crook County School District were the teacher of College-Entrance English at Crook County High School and later as Dean of Boys. Browning was born on March 5, 1919 in Los Angeles, CA. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Clarajane Dick, in 2007. He is survived by two brothers, M. Keith Browning and J. Daniel Browning, as well as two children, Frances B. Cogan and Thomas G. Browning, and three granddaughters, Elizabeth B. Cogan, Cassandra M. Browning, and Hilary F. Browning. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Bateman Funeral Home in Newport, OR (915 Northeast Yaquina Heights Drive) at 2:30 p.m. |
