Donald “Donnie” K. Hovey

Donald “Donnie” K. Hovey, 72, passed away January 5, 2013. A service will be held at a later date and he will be laid to rest at West Branch Cemetery in Mitchell, Oregon.

Donnie was born February 13, 1940 in Prineville, Oregon to Clarence and Alda Hovey of Mitchell, Oregon. He attended and graduated from the Mitchell School. He worked for area ranches and especially enjoyed farming. In the early 70’s he moved to Prineville, Ore where he was a millworker for Hudspeth and retired from American Pine Wood Products in 2002.

After retiring he enjoyed traveling anywhere, camping with family and friends, wood working, oil painting, visiting and eating with friends (which he considered his other family) at the Tastee Treat.

He spent his last month, December, with his brother Ron and his wife Carmen Hovey of Terrebonne, OR. He is also survived by two nephews Tod Hovey of Terrebonne, Roy Hovey and his wife Tina of Sandy, Oregon, and two great-nephews Chase and Ty Hovey of Redmond, Oregon and numerous other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister.
