Juvenile injured in motorcycle accident

January 21, 2013

A Klamath Falls area juvenile sustained serious injuries following a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon off of George Millican Road.

On Sunday, at 12:56 p.m., the Crook County Sheriff's Office, Crook County Search and Rescue, Crook County Fire and Rescue, and Deschutes County Fire and Rescue were all dispatched to the area of George Millican Road near Reservoir Road to Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) trail 55. It was reported that a 13-year-old male juvenile had crashed his off road motorcycle sustaining serious injuries.

The area of the accident is an OHV trail system for off road vehicles in the area of George Millican Road and Reservoir Road. Medics from the Crook County Fire and Rescue were the first on scene arriving by four-wheeler. Lifeflight was activated due to the injuries and remote area. Lifeflight transported the male juvenile to St. Charles Bend and later to OHSU in Portland with serious injuries.

It was determined that the male juvenile and his father both from Klamath Falls, were westbound on trail 55 riding their off road motorcycles. They came around a bend in the trail as Brandon Bradley age 34, of Bend was eastbound on trail 55. As the two parties approached each other the male juvenile lost control of his motorcycle and crashed sustaining the injuries. No one else sustained any injuries and all parties were wearing appropriate safety equipment for riding.
