Irma Mae Belz

Irma Mae Belz, 78, passed away Jan. 26, 2013 in Prineville, Ore. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at the Camas Cemetery in Camas, Wash. Keith Belz will officiate.

Irma was born Aug. 19, 1934 to Frank and Jenny (Newell) Zettle in Bellingham, Wash. She married Ed Belz in 1955. The couple then moved to Portland, Ore. where she helped build their home on Marine Drive in Portland from the planning stages to the finish stages. Irma worked at voting booths for several years in Portland.

She was a den mother for the cub scouts while her sons were growing up, as well as spending five summers supervising their four sons at Kalalock, Wash., located on the beach in Olympic National Park where her husband was a park ranger. Family was very important to her. She also taught Junior High Sunday School for several years. Irma served on the Christian Education Board at North Baptist Church, where she was an active member. Lived in Portland for 44 years then moved to Prineville in 2000 until her death.

She is survived by her two brothers, Clyde Zettle of Everett, Wash. and Larry Zettle of Prineville Ore.; her husband, Ed Belz from Prineville; her four sons, Kraig Belz from Portland, Ore., Keith Belz from Prineville, Ore., Kevin Belz from Golden Valley, Ariz., and Kirk Belz from Wilkeson, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
