Darrell Lee Lewis

Darrell Lee Lewis, 55, passed away Jan. 29, 2013 at St. Charles Medical Center in Prineville, Ore. The family will hold a celebration of life later this spring.

Darrell was born in 1957 in Prineville, Ore. to Earl Lewis and Janet Engle-Hardin. He was raised in Monument, Ore. and graduated from Monument High School. He lived for a short time in Springfield, Ore. then moved to Prineville, Ore. and set up permanent residence. Darrell worked 25 years in the logging industry, 20 of those years as a timber faller with Stafford Logging. He then went to work at Contact Lumber where he spent the next 13 years.

Darrell was a fun loving man who always had a smile for anyone he knew. He loved country music and any outdoor activity including crabbing, hunting, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, wood cutting and going for walks with his dog, Buddy. The thing he loved most in life was being with friends and family. His grandchildren were the light of his life.

He is survived by his mother Janet Engle-Hardin, brother, Donald “Buddy” Lewis, sisters Earlene Dillard, and Marlene Lewis, his children, Tim and Jessica Lewis, Melissa Baller and Tiffany Dyemartin, his grandchildren, Kenzie, Owen, Caden, Garrett, Sydney, Sawyer, and many nieces and nephews.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father Earl Lewis.
