John Lavoy Grimes

John Lavoy Grimes, a longtime Prineville resident, passed away on Feb. 3, 2013, at his home in Indio, Calif. He was 79 years old.

John was born in Prineville, Ore. on Dec. 15, 1933, to Ervin and Marguerite Grimes.

John married the love of his life, Barbara, on May 22, 1955. He was a farmer, and loved the sun. He enjoyed golfing and watching sports, especially football.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara.

He is survived by his son, Mark Grimes of Prineville, Ore.; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Grimes of Prineville, Ore.; and his grandson, Jameson Grimes of Tumalo, Ore.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Crook County Sheriff Search and Rescue, 308 N.E. Second St., Prineville, OR 97754.

A private graveside service was held at Juniper Haven Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of Prineville Funeral Home.
