Merrillyn J. Goodson

Mrs. Goodson, age 76, of Prineville died Feb. 12, 2013. No services will be held per her request.

Mrs. Goodson was born in Pendleton, Ore., Dec. 22, 1936, to Well and Merrill Dorn and Viola Ann Hiatt Dorn. She attended school in Echo through the end of her freshman year. The family moved to Kinzua in 1951 where she attended her sophomore and half of her junior year at Wheeler County High School in Fossil, Ore.

She moved to Prineville, Ore. in 1953 and graduated from Crook County High School in 1954. She married Robert Gerke in 1955 and was divorced. She married James Harold Goodson, March 3, 1961.

She worked at Central Oregon District Hospital in Redmond from October 1958 until retirement in August 1996. The family moved to Lyles, Tenn. in 1997. Her hobbies were reading, knitting, and her computer e-mail friends.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Duke and Vi Dorn and her husband, Harold. She returned to Prineville after the death of her husband.

She is survived by two children, Jan K. Dosser and companion, Bobby Bishop of Lyles, Tenn., and Todd and Sandy Goodson of Mitchell, Ore.; grandsons, Chaz Goodson, Shawn Adamson, Kyle Adamson; great-grandson, Brodey Adamson and great-granddaughter, Taylor Rose.
