Outlaws sweep CowboysSisters wins all six contested matches and pair of forfeitsMarch 18, 2013 The Sisters Outlaws were in control from the first serve as they swept the Crook County Cowboys 8-0 in Thursday-afternoon tennis action. “Well, it was our first match, and we got stomped,” said Crook County coach Michael Boyd. “We are still in a building phase, and Sisters is a quality team.” The Outlaws won all four singles matches outright, and took the first two doubles matches, before Crook County forfeited the final two matches of the evening. Paul Fullhart opened things up for the Outlaws with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Jack Stubblefield in their No. 1 singles match. In the No. 1 doubles match, Sol Lin-Scott and Trevor Standen were nearly as impressive as they topped Crook County’s Geoff Gerdes and Ory Fultz 6-1, 6-2. In other singles matches, Crook County’s Oliver Peterson fell 6-4, 6-1, Brick Woodward lost 6-6, 6-3, and Josue Ojeda dropped his match 6-2, 6-3. In the only other match played, Crook County’s Hayden Boyd and Garrett Harper fell 6-1, 6-2. Still, Boyd believed that the team showed improvement during the match, and will continue to improve. “We are looking forward to our next match against Madras, and we expect to show even more improvement in that match,” he said.
